Due to insufficiency of evidence Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Vivian Monzon-Rojo dismissed qualified theft charges against 25 union members of Golden Will Fashion Philippines Workers Organization-Independent (GWFPWO-Ind) on the 4

Security guards dispersed workers protesting over rights to job security

More than a hundred workers from garments and apparel factories in the First Cavite Industrial Estate (FCIE) who staged a protest rally in front of the enclave in Brgy. Langkaan, Dasmarinas, Cavite last February 26, 2009 was violently dispersed by members of the Right 8 Security Guards posted at the main gate.

Six security guards, not all of them in uniform, initially tried to prevent workers from holding a program saying that it is not permitted because it is a private zone.

On tour “Pagsambang Bayan” (literally translates People’s Mass/Worship), a play acclaimed for its bold defiance and militance during Martial Law years was once again restaged and for the first time shown in Cavite last February 28, 2009 at the Emilio Aguinaldo College in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
